Basic information and History

A fantastically nice and highly sought-after Volvo model, PV 544 Sport with an incredibly well-documented history!. A Swedish-sold car equipped with correct double SU carburettors and the 5.5 inch rims which were accessories. The car also has a really stylish and period-typical steering wheel, radio and additional lights.

The car was sold new in Laxå where it still lives today and has lived its entire life here in Sweden with 5 very enthusiastic owners. The first service was done at Esso Motorby in Laxå and the car was in the same family of owners almost the entire time it was in use. The model was the first generation Volvo P544 with the then new engine type B18 and 12 V electrical system. The new front suspension and steering made a big difference to the road characteristics and the standard fitted 3-point belts and the windscreen washer made the model one of the safest on the market. The car received a very professional renovation in 2012 where it was also converted to unleaded petrol and has only driven about 100 miles since then! The meter reading cannot be guaranteed and is sold as "TMU" (True Milage Unknown).

Condition

Exterior: The seller says that the car is in a very good restored and flawless condition with no damage to the body or glass and has no noted remarks. On the whole, presents itself as an almost new car. The 5.5" rims are completely free of edge scratches and the car is in the same fine condition underneath. Interior: The original interior is in fantastic original condition with few signs of use. The 2-tone upholstery is without any particular wear and all plastic details and functions are in the same fully functional and fine condition. Mechanics: The car runs fantastically well in both engine and gearbox and has an absolutely incredible well-documented inspection history and service history with original service book. The car is exempt from inspection and all brakes and tires are in very good condition and without any complaints. Please see all the photos in the album for more info!


Summary

A really nice icon and part of the Swedish car industry. There are few items left with the same level of documentation and in the same fine restored condition as this one which almost guarantees this will be a fine investment for the future. The car does just as well in a museum as it does on the road!
