  • Discreet look
  • Very well built with great focus on finish and quality

According to history, this Swedish-sold Volvo 240 was in service from 1980 until 1989, when it was parked away to receive some love. According to information, the car has had 16 owners over the years. Today, the car has been rebuilt and is equipped with Volvo's V8444S connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Volvo V8 is 4.4 liters and packs approx. 315 hp. To bring down the newfound power, a multi-plate diff has been fitted to the rear axle. BC-Coilovers are fitted for slightly better chassis response. The car has a slightly more discreet look so as not to stand out too much.

Equipment and options

The car is in its current form inspected and approved. In data we find, among other things:

T12B CONVERTED VEHICLE
T31A ENGINE REPLACED
T31B ENGINE CHANGED

In addition to registration with the above-mentioned specifications, there is, among other things, a gearbox from BMW, Mac Pherson front suspension with BC coilovers, rigid 10-bolt GM rear axle with diff brake, 2-circuit brake system with power amplifier and disc brakes in both front and rear.

Condition

The car is perceived to be in a fine and rustfree condition. According to the current owner, the car received new paint in 1990, which still looks good. There are no remarks on lighting, chrome, moldings or emblems. There are scratches in the plastic on the front and rear bumpers. The car's JR6 rims come with approx. 8mm pattern tire depth remaining.

The interior of the car is in a well maintained condition. Lighter modifications such as older style sports seats are fitted to match the GT instrumentation. A nice wooden steering wheel from Nardi has also found its way into the cabin. Instrument panel is flocked and instruments in the panel have some patina on them. A small screen for control system and information is installed.

Mechanically, the car is in a fine condition with no complaints from the engine. Leakage has not been noted. The engine that is installed has reportedly traveled 9000 miles. New rally type clutch was installed in 2023. There is some noise from the gearbox, and this is reportedly due to the clutch being mute. Brakes are described as new.

Service history

The car was serviced no later than August 2023 by the current owner. Previous protocols are not available. Last inspection was carried out on 2023-11-02.

Summary

A really raw and well-built 240-V8 with a discreet look!
