Basic information and history
Domestically sold British classic, Triumph Spitfire from 1968. The car has received a new Lindblomgröns metallic paint and gives a very good overall impression! According to the register, the car have 12 previous owners, but how many of these are actual users versus companies cannot be ascertained. The current owner knows the ownership history well and according to information from previously known owners, the meter has most likely not turned around.
- Domestically sold British classic, Triumph Spitfire
- Newly painted in Lindbromsgreen metallic
- 71000km on the odometer!
The car is equipped with a 1.3-liter four of approx. 75hp/120nm mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox and rear wheel drive. With its scant 850kg and low driving position, the Spitfire is a very inviting little summer car!
Condition
The general condition of the body is described as very fine. As previously mentioned, the car has been given new paint, and then of course they took the opportunity to paint the hardtop as well. There are no worse dents, stone chips on the doors or scratches in the paintwork. The car is also free from rust. Windscreen and side windows have normal wear and tear from years gone by. Chrome, moldings and headlights are described as being in very good condition. The rims are free of damage and tread depth is described as OK, however not measured.
The interior is in a nice condition but materials are slightly aged. The soft top is described as being in good condition and so is the inner roof. The seats are, despite their age, free of damage. Instrument panel and gauges in good condition. Material on door sides as well. Interior carpets in good condition. Steering wheel and controls have age wear but are in fully functional condition. All electronics in the passenger compartment work as intended.
Engine is described as being in good condition. However, it is a bit difficult to start sometimes, which is probably a matter of light tuning. Gearbox, drivetrain and brakes are described as being in good condition and mechanically everything works as it should.
Feel free to look through all the photos of the car to form an idea of the condition. Questions can be asked in the question field and these are answered by the owner himself.
Service history
The car received a lubrication and general service no later than 2021. In the spring of 2024, the carburettor was adjusted by Öhbom Bilservice. Unfortunately, which is not unusual on these cars, there is no previous service history. Last inspection took place on 2019-05-16.
Summary
A truly excellent British classic that offers entertaining driving and cheap ownership. A perfect summer car for those who want to enjoy our Swedish country roads!
