1967 Triumph GT6
Triumph GT6 is a coupe version built on the popular Spitfire model which was also competed with extensively. Instead of the Spitfire's 4-cylinder engine, this performance model got the larger 2.0l straight 6 with 97hp. As the car only weighs 860kg, the speed resources are good! A total of 40,926 GT6 models were made of the 3 generations built in 1966-1973. This is a Mark I which was sold new in Sweden with only 4 owners over the years. It is tastefully optioned with its red paint and black interior and the tan roof liner makes the coupe feel bright and airy.
Equipment
The car is standard equipped with black upholstery, wooden instrument panel and sports steering wheel and tan roof liner. Openable rear windows are available and is prepared for a modern stereo with speakers already mounted.
Condition
Exterior: The red paint presents itself well and can be considered in OK condition given the age of the car. There is no documentation of repainting or renovation. There are various smaller areas on the body with marks / minor damage due to age (see photos).
Mechanically. The engine has received an extensive renovation this year with a complete overhaul of the motor and cylinder heads. The brakes have also been overhauled and have all new hardware in the front.
Service history
The car has been parked in a garage for 25 years and just now in 2022 had a major engine overhaul including all service items. Tax and inspection exempt.
Summary
A stylish British classic that you both dare and want to use! The car has great potential and benefits as being a great mechanically sound example.
