1995 SAAB 900 SE V6 Automat
Lovely cab with nice ownership history and low miles.
Saab manufactured the 900 model between the years 1978 and 1998. Two generations were built between during this period. Generation 1 was called Classic and generation 2 was simply called "the new generation". This example from the new generation in production between the years 1994-1998.
The convertible models were built in the Finnish factory Valmet Automotive from 1986 onwards. Valmet is known for having worked closely with other well-known car manufacturers such as Porsche, Fisker Automobil, Mercedes and Opel, and more.
When GM took over Saab in the 90's, the classic manufacturing process of the 900 models disappeared. 900 instead became a Saab that rolled on an Opel Vectra Chassis. This did not go down well with loyal Saab lovers. The good news is that the convertible versions were still based on the classic chassis from Valmet in Finland and were allowed to retain their original SAAB character.
The SE models were named GOOSE by the Saab lovers, as cars had the text 900SE on the back, which could be interpreted as GOOSE. Odd features that characterize a Saab are that the instrument panel has the so-called Night Pannel where you could turn off all displays except the speedometer for a more comfortable night driving. The ignition switch is located in front of the parking brake, which was unique to SAAB.
The Saab 900 model between 1993-1998 won a dozen awards over the years from car journalists around the world. For example Most innovative car, best buy, Best car.
This particular example has a very fine ownership history with only one main user.
It was intended for the US market but remained on the factory site in Trollhättan until the summer of '98. The head of the dealer Saab Ana in Trollhättan had it as a summer car. The current owner bought it in the fall of '98 and has owned it ever since. It has been in the garage and has been driven about 500 miles/year per year throughout its life.

Summary
A real classic with a fine ownership and service history. Given the price picture of the Gen 1 model, this may be the right timing to step into a gen2. Most likely you will enjoy the wind in your hair and enjoy the summer in a nice convertible where you do not have to worry about a decrease in value. We must not forget that Saab no longer produces cars, so there will not be more cars. This car also has the much stronger V6 engine than the more common four-cylinder variant and a coveted classic color combination.
