2003 KTM 950 Adventure S
Basic information and History
The history of the KTM 950 begins as early as 1992 when two students cobbled together a one-off motorcycle that was named Bepono. The engine was built by combining two cylinders from the KTM LC4 together with various special parts. The motorcycle was showcased at the IFMA show in Cologne. In 1996, the next version of the motorcycle was produced, but without an agreement regarding cooperation with other companies, that particular version was never produced. In 1998, KTM engineers decide on a 75-degree V-twin for its light and compact design. In 2001, Fabrizio Meoni won the Rally Pharao in Egypt and the Dakar the next year. The motorcycle was now ready for production and in 2003 sales began following the display of the final product at the 2003 Intermot Motorcycle Show.
This 2003 model comes with a 75-degree V-twin of 942cc, about 102hp/97nm. The top speed is stated to be approx. 215km/h. In total, the vehicle has had 11 previous owners. The meter reading currently stands at approx. 38488 km and can be guaranteed to be correct.
Equipment and options
This KTM 950 comes with extra equipment, such as:
- Handle heater

- Crash bars
- 12-volt socket and mobile phone holder
Original muffler and a front tire for the street are included with the motorcycle when the owner changes.
Condition
The motorcycle comes in a well maintained condition with no damage to the bodywork. The paintwork is nice but there are bubbles under some of the tiger decals. There are also scratches on the roll bars and the frame below the foot pegs. The rims are in good condition and the tread depth measures approx. 11 mm. Engine and gearbox are described by the current owner as being in good condition. No leaks from the engine or the like have been noted. The front disc sings on the last verse and would need to be replaced. However, it is estimated to go through inspection. Electrically, everything works as it should and the instrument panel is described as being in good condition.

Summary
As the current owner describes it: "the dream bike for everyone who likes analog and raw power. Perfect for flying over the dunes down to Dakar or driving on racks along our Swedish dirt roads". We can't help but agree with that description, so here's a chance to bring home a definitely special ride with an almost cult-like following loaded with knowledge and a steady buy- and sell-situation.
