Basic information and history

Domestically sold Honda GL 1000K3 Gold Wing from 1979 with 90800km on the odometer and 7 owners in the register. How many are actual users versus traders cannot be ascertained. The motorcycle comes in a nice original condition, ready to be enjoyed. The Honda GL 1000K3 is the third update of the model since it was released in 1975. The engine was slightly modified to provide better torque at low rpm. Modifications include, among other things, a 1mm smaller carburettor, reworked exhaust system and that timing was changed on valves and spark plugs. Kick-start was also removed as well as other small improvements. Spoke wheels from previous models were also replaced with a more modern rim called ComStar. The weight of this updated K3 is approx. 273kg, compared to the previous model with a weight of 265kg.

Equipped with a 999cc boxer four with approx. 80hp connected to a 5-speed gearbox.

Condition

The general condition is described by the owner as fine original condition. The bike has survived worse scratches and dents. However, the seller informs that there are some scratches on the plates around the radiator. Chrome is described as being in good condition. There is some minor damage to the mufflers as well as various scratches and surface wear all around. All lamp lenses and other lamps are intact and fine. Rims without damage with new front tire. Rear tires have been repaired with punctures and with a tread depth of approx. 2.5-3.5mm. Steering wheel, buttons and instruments in good condition. All electrical functions work as they should.

Engine is described as being in excellent working condition. Box and drive work without problems. Brakes are described as working very well.

Service history

The motorcycle is regularly serviced. The last service was carried out at the workshop last spring with a change of engine and brake oil. There are receipts for various jobs, including a timing belt change in August 2017, the battery in January 2022, front tire change in May 2024 and muffler repair in June 2023. Last inspection was carried out on 06/21/2018.
