1973 Corvette C3 Stingray

Basic Information & Background

The Corvette is a model with a very long history, it is considered America's first sports car and has always been a very sought-after model on the market. The C3 generation was a major upgrade compared to the C2 where the driving characteristics were further improved and the car received a design language. This 1973 model was imported to Sweden in 2005 from California but was not reg-inspected until 2018 as it had been under renovation before then. The seller purchased it in 2013 from the previous owner who imported the car and is also the one who did the solid restoration and is now arguably one of the finest C3 Corvettes in the country with a fit rarely seen on these fiberglass bodies. Even the low mileage of just over 3,000 miles is correct and guaranteed by the owner.

Condition

Exterior: The car has undergone a solid renovation where the body has been sanded completely clean of plastic and new cracks have been made all around the car. The car was painted with six layers of clear coat, which is then water sanded and polished. Everything under the car is painted such as the frame, wheel suspensions and wheel arches. All exterior chrome such as bumper, rear view mirror, tail pipe, license plate holder and emblem is new and there are new rubber strips everywhere. The car is in absolute top condition with few remarks, for example a small stone chip in the windshield and a couple of small scratches on the side window. Interior: The interior is in very nice restored condition with new carpets, refinished seats with lacquered undercarriage and frame, new upholstery and new black upholstery that was changed from the original color which was beige. The rest of the interior is in good condition with very little wear, as is the steering wheel and original dashboard. It is noted that the radio and AC are out of order. Mechanical: The engine is an upgraded 350sb with, among other things, a sharper camshaft, Edelbrock intake, refurbished distributor with new cover, new switch tips, new generator, new water pump, new hoses and new belts. The exhaust system is a new original system. The chassis has also been revised with, among other things, new shock absorbers and bushings all around, and the majority of all bolts on the car are new. Refurbished fuel tank and refurbished vacuum bells. Noticed are a couple of drops from the steering servo that come on and off if the car is standing for a long time, all gaskets have now also been changed. The TH400 gearbox has also been overhauled with new o-rings, stuffing boxes and gaskets and a new converter. The last service was carried out in May 2023, however there are no previous service records. The braking system is overhauled with upgraded slotted brake discs and painted calipers. A really cool and well-renovated example of a classic icon that both runs and looks as it should! These models have had a very stable price picture and fine examples like this one always have, and will always be sought after on the market.
