Basic Information & Background

We are proud to present this unusual and fun object, the AMC Pacer X. Known from the movie world and infamous for its special and unique design. This a Swedish sold model from 1975 with only 4 previous owners where the seller bought the car from a guy who owned three Pacers at the time so it has been loved and cared for over the years.

This copy was purchased by the current owner in 2019 and has been used sparingly since then. The car is well documented with original books and the majority of the previous inspection reports. The car has a clean and fine history, but due to its age, the seller cannot guarantee the mileage.

Apparently, the car has never been restored and is in a better working condition for the particular model, but it is undoubtedly in a solid and honest condition and can be driven exactly as it is for many years to come or if you choose to send it for a full paint job to then have an even finer object.


Condition

Exterior: As the pictures show, there are various minor marks on the paint and surface rust at certain exposed and known points, mostly on the lower edge of the doors. Can clearly be driven exactly as it is, alternatively a couple of minor fixes or give it a new full paint job to be in mint condition again. Straight and nice in the body otherwise without any registered accidents or major renovations on the car apart from a paint job at some point and the car presents itself very well. Interior: The original brown vinyl interior with patterned fabric inserts is in very good condition for its age and mileage. There are traces of use and age/patina but can be considered to be in honest and good condition with no damage/tears in the upholstery with relatively little traces of use, complete and fine inner ceiling and is of course smoke free. Details such as the steering wheel, gear lever, instrument panel etc. are in good condition, but there are a couple of minor cracks on the door sides, e.g. The original European radio is included, but the retrofitted sound system built into the small bag is included. Mechanically: The seller says that the car is in good mechanical condition and the drivetrain works as it should. The recognized 4.2 L six that sits in Jeep, among other things, runs fine and the car feels stable on the road. There are no known mechanical faults or leaks. Service history

During the car's lifetime, it has been serviced by the few owners it has had, and the original service book and instruction manuals remain. In recent years, the car has been serviced by the owner himself, but there are previous service records and inspection records. The last inspection was 2022/07 with no comments.

Summary

It is a bit of a cult car that is predicted to perform well in the future, especially in this kind of good used condition. Even though the car has been voted the world's ugliest on a couple of occasions, many people like it precisely because of its peculiar appearance. Either you can give the car the love it deserves with a full paint job, or just turn the key and drive! Whatever you decide to do, it's an affordable and good item that deserves to be saved for the future.
