Basic Information and History

This 1973 Volkswagen Beetle 1303S is a well-preserved, sold new in Sweden car that has been in the same family for many years. It was originally purchased by the current owner’s godfather and later inherited by his mother. Today, the car is registered under the current seller’s name. The odometer shows approximately 20,000 km, but the car has not been in use for several years, so the reading has remained unchanged. The car has been stored in a heated garage throughout its life, which has contributed to maintaining the bodywork in impressively good condition.

Equipment and Options

The Volkswagen Beetle 1303S is equipped with the exclusive sunroof, which was a popular option at the time of purchase and gives the car an extra sense of luxury and openness. The bodywork is original, and no modifications, such as splitters or spoilers, have been made.

Condition

The car has been stationary for a long time, and despite the generally good condition of the bodywork, there are some minor dents under the rear bumper and a few small rust spots. The paint has a few minor scratches and stone chips, and the clear coat around the sunroof is partially removed due to my mother taping it to prevent leaks. The wheels are original but show some damage. The interior is in original condition, though the driver's seat is sagging, and there is visible wear on the door panels and door sills. The electronics are partially non-functional, including the fuel gauge sensor and the odometer.

Service History

The most recent service was performed in September 2022 at Lindströms Bilel in Skövde, where the brake hose, spark plugs, and distributor cap rotor were replaced. The car has not been serviced according to the manufacturer’s intervals, but my mother has regularly checked and topped up the oil. The car has been driven relatively little in recent years and has been kept in good mechanical condition.
